Theresa Landrum

Theresa is a cancer survivor, a passionate community advocate for environmental justice, and a proud lifelong resident of Southwest Detroit. Growing up in a family with 10 siblings, surrounded by factories and corporate greed, Theresa says she has witnessed firsthand the devastating health impacts of polluted air, water and soil on her neighbors and loved ones. Driven by her belief in equality and fairness, Theresa navigates the Motor City to speak up and call attention to securing clean air, safe water, and a healthier future for her community. Through her role on the VOICE Board, she seeks to redefine poverty through lived experiences and amplify voices of those struggling with financial instability. For Theresa, “voice” means being heard and creating space for collective action that uplifts families toward lasting stability and justice. She feels it’s most critical to center the work around those most affected by poverty—ensuring their stories, struggles, and wisdom guide meaningful conversations and solutions.
