Sophie Dover
Partnership Director
Sophie (she/they) is UpTogether’s Partnership Director for the West Coast Region. She is motivated by UpTogether’s vision of self-determination for individuals and families and its values of racial and economic justice.
Her prior work spans community health, youth organizing, housing rights, and criminal justice, with the goal of building power in frontline communities. Most recently, she worked with the Los Angeles Regional Reentry Coalition to envision a policy agenda for returning citizens in Los Angeles County. Previously, she has worked with Chrysalis, a workforce development nonprofit in Los Angeles, Rivera Consulting, Inc., a progressive political shop in Boston, and at the New York City Housing Authority as a Senior Policy Analyst. She started her career as a community health worker in Boston, MA.
Sophie holds a Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School and a B.A. in Sociology and Community Health from Tufts University. She currently sits on the Leadership Council of Mirror Memoirs, an organization centering healing and advocacy for queer, trans, and/or intersex BIPOC survivors of child sexual abuse. Sophie is a proud Sri Lankan Jew who enjoys listening to good music and eating good food in Los Angeles, CA.
