Marina Tolchinsky

Marina joined UpTogether as Director of Analytics in 2023. She is passionate about using data for social good and brings nearly a decade of experience analyzing data to derive actionable insights for nonprofits, governments, and businesses.

 

Before joining UpTogether, Marina evaluated potential investments in workforce development at Social Finance and developed a monitoring and evaluation plan for a state government agency. Previously, she was an Analytics Team Lead at a data technology startup, where she led the development of new methodologies to produce insights from survey, geospatial, and administrative data for public and private sector clients. Marina also worked as a consultant for several years, supporting research on impact evaluation methods and information system design for government partners. Earlier in her career, she was an Overseas Development Institute Fellow in Djibouti, where she worked with the Ministry of Economy and Finance on economic development planning and macroeconomic analysis.

 

Marina holds an MA in International Economics from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a BA in Economics and International Relations from the University of Southern California. Outside of her professional life, you can find her biking around Washington DC or in the pottery studio making ceramics.
