Amanda Brush
Survey Researcher
Amanda joined UpTogether as Survey Researcher in 2023. She began her career in academic industries and holds a PhD in political science from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Before working with UpTogether, Amanda served as ACLS/Mellon Leading Edge Postdoctoral Research Fellow for Service and Advocacy for LGBTQ+ Elders (SAGE). She is a data humanist, dedicated to responsible data collection, interpretation, and application of data, emphasizing the need to consider the social and emotional dimensions behind numbers. As an advocate of transforming data from statistical representations into stories that empower people and communities, Amanda’s goal is to foster empathy, increase well-being, and enable people to see themselves in data.
Outside work, Amanda enjoys spending time with her family and friends, taking long walks on the beach, and searching for the world’s best savory breakfast.
