Lesa Antoine

Lesa is a mother, a lover of botany, a Paralegal, a Special Education advocate, and mediator from Boston who uses her voice to passionately push for inclusion. Her firsthand experience witnessing the deep disparities in access to resources, health care, social services, and policy inspired her to become a change agent dedicated to addressing systemic inequality. Lesa found new purpose when her daughter’s autism diagnosis was followed by a front seat view to the lack of empathy and support for parents and caregivers navigating complex education and social service systems. Her belief that every family deserves to be heard and respected quickly meshed well with the VOICE Board as her input sparked conversations around challenging stereotypes and dismantling negative narratives about families of color living with limited incomes. For Lesa, “voice” is the outward expression of inner dialogue—it’s a way to speak truth to systems that have long ignored the truth. She believes this work is essential to turning awareness into action and truth into change. Lesa says she is committed to reshaping systems so that every family has the opportunity to thrive.
